Air Optix plus HydraGlyde - the third update of the Air Optix lens series. New in the lens is the introduction into the composition of the water-retaining copolymer material. This method has long been used in hydrogel contact lenses. Experts know that the presence of such copolymer does not yet guarantee improvement in water retention, otherwise all lenses would be transferred to a material with a similar polymer. Nevertheless, this is another step forward in improving the properties of the product. In this respect, Alcon positively stands out among its competitors by issuing periodic upgrades of products.
The SmartShield option is inherited from previous models - it inhibits the penetration of silicone onto the lens surface, thus eliminating the pollution inherent in silicones.
Given that the formal indicators in comparison with the previous model did not change, we can say that this is the update / improvement of the product, and not a new lens.
